Memorial Day

It was such a fantastic Memorial Day! My family always spends the morning in Salt Lake with my mom's side of the family at the graves down there and then we have a little lunch. Then we drove back home and had a BBQ with the Berg side. To top the night off 'the family' (aka group of friends) had a fire at Whiskey Springs. It was a fantastic time with lots of hot-dogs, marshmallows, and laughs. It was a great summer night and I'm hoping the weather stays good!

Memorial Day is one of my favorite holidays because its such an important one. I hope that everyone remembered the real reason for the holiday and thanked at least one person who has served our country. I have a great uncle and two cousins that have served in the Army and recently in Afghanistan and I am eternally grateful to them and all those service men and women how have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their lives for this great country and the liberties and freedoms I enjoy every day. I hope we remember to continue to thank and support our troops and their families. I am proud to be an American! and Welcome Summer!!

Chain saw training, Really?

This was the first week of the Forest Service for the summer and we had chain saw training. Stacey Lythgoe and I pretty much rocked it. We had to take pictures of us in our get-up! Pretty fun week but I am so sore now its unbelievable. Its a lot harder to use a chain saw all day than you think.

2010 State Republican Convention

Yesterday I volunteered at the 2010 Utah State Republican Convention, I helped with the elections committee. It was a lot of fun and I got to hang out with some of my intern buddies from the session. It was a cool atmosphere to be in and it was fun to see people and legislators that I had met during the session. It was fun to be in the election room and know the results of the races before everyone else. Unfortunately they didn't let us use our phones so we couldn't leak any results or anything like that ha ha.

Chatting it up with Senator Niederhauser and Senator Hinkins.

A friend took this because I look like a "normal" citizen at the convention

The REAL Mitt Romney!!

Yes, that is Mitt Romney and Ronald Reagan.
I'm pretty important.

First horse ride of the summer!

Today Lynsee and I went on the first ride of the summer up Center Creek. It was warmer than we thought it would be and we had a lot of fun. We just kind of rode around and bush-whacked. When we got back to the trailer I realized I had lost my wallet, so then we re-hiked where we had just rode. But the good news is I found it! It was a gorgeous day and I feel very blessed to live in such an amazing place!
We are pretty cool.
